In a perfect world, we'd be able to directly impact the movies that get made. One genre that could probably use our help is romance. So in honor of Valentine's Day, which element of these movies needs to get thrown out?
Generic Casting: For a while it seemed like Matthew McConaughey was in every single one of these. Now it's Rachel McAdams. The lesson: we love Scottish names in our romance.
Repetitive Plots: It's tough to name a romance movie that doesn't follow the storyline of: meet, encounter obstacle, overcome obstacle, be happy, roll credits.
Comedy Angle: Perhaps no genre inspires more disdain amongst serious movie watchers than the Rom-Com. It's been done to death.

Disclaimer: I know I have way too few readers at this point for the polls to be meaningful, but this is the schedule I want to stick to even after growing a readership base.
