After a rare weekend where total movie gross didn't break $100 million, the box office rebounded this weekend, carried largely by the opening of the second Hobbit movie. Opening 13% lower than its predecessor, however, the reviews saying the sequel is the better movie apparently didn't entirely convince people to see it. Disney's Frozen continued to do well, dropping less than 30% in its fourth week to fend off the latest Madea offering. Speaking of, as this was the lowest Madea opening ever, maybe we're finally in the downswing of these terrible, Eddie Murphy 2.0 debacles. The other notable is Out of the Furnace, which at this point, looks like it might not even make back it's $22 million budget domestically. It would appear fickle moviegoers will only cast their support being one Woody Harrelson film at a time, and Catching Fire has taken that spot.
